Governor Uba Sani has declared Kaduna a one-party state under the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that no opposition exists. He stated that he feels no remorse for this political dominance.
Sani claimed, “We have brought Kaduna into a one-party state and I have no apology for that.” He criticized some journalists for having preconceived opinions about his administration.
The governor emphasized that no president has supported northern Nigeria as much as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has in less than three years. Sani expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure 70 percent of the votes if elections were held at polling units.
Improvements in infrastructure have boosted economic activities in Kaduna. Two major projects were recently approved: a 50 km Light Rail corridor costing N1 trillion and the construction of the 122 km Mandu-Birnin Gwari Road at a cost of N178 billion.
Sani also noted significant security improvements in the state, allowing residents to travel without military escort. He remarked, “Kaduna is a role model in the effective utilization of the funds given to states.”
Before 2023, Kaduna faced challenges such as insecurity and poor infrastructure. The current administration aims to address these issues through various initiatives.
Sani criticized the opposition coalition for attempting to undermine democracy in Nigeria. Observers will watch closely as these developments unfold in the lead-up to future elections.
