The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the sale of application forms for the 2026 Direct Entry admission exercise to May 8. This extension replaces the earlier deadline and aims to ensure that no eligible candidate is denied access to tertiary education.
Five additional registration centres have been approved to ease pressure in high-demand locations. These centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), Bells University of Technology, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre, and Human Development Initiatives.
JAMB offices nationwide remain open for registration. The extension provides more time for candidates to complete their applications before the final deadline.
Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, stated, “The extension aims to ensure that no eligible candidate is denied access to tertiary education.” He added that the extension gives prospective Direct Entry candidates a longer window to finish their application.
The Human Development Initiatives centre at Grace House in Iwaya, Lagos, is expected to begin operations on April 30, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to utilize this additional opportunity effectively.
This decision aligns with JAMB’s ongoing efforts to maintain an inclusive admission process for qualified applicants. The new deadline for registration is set for May 8, 2026.
