The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed a new trophy and visual identity for the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations. This rebrand is part of a strategic effort to expand the commercial reach of the indoor sport across Africa. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Morocco from October 12 to 21, 2026. Eight qualified nations will compete for the newly designed trophy. The official draw for the competition is set to be conducted on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Morocco.
Tournament Details and Draw
The draw will be held at the Auditorium of the Mohammed VI Football Complex, starting at 18h00 local time (17h00 GMT). During this event, the eight qualified nations will learn their group stage opponents for Africa’s premier futsal competition. The TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 is expected to showcase the continued growth of futsal across the continent and further enhance the sport’s profile.
The qualified nations for the finals include Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Libya, Morocco (as hosts), Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia. Morocco automatically qualified as the host nation, while the other seven teams secured their spots through two-legged qualifying ties.
Morocco’s Preparations and Title Defence
The Morocco national futsal team is preparing for the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations. The team is scheduled to play two friendly matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first match is set for Thursday, August 13, followed by a second encounter on Saturday, August 15.
Both matches will be held at 7 p.m. at the Mohammed VI Football Complex near Rabat. Their previous triumph included a 5-1 victory over Angola in the final in Rabat, where Soufiane Borite, Idriss Raiss El Fenni, Soufiane El Mesrar, Anas El Ayyane, and Bilal Bakkali scored.
As hosts, expectations for Morocco will be high. The team will aim to extend its dominance on home soil, with Dguig balancing the demands of defending the title with building a squad capable of maintaining Morocco‘s growing reputation in the sport.
