A source close to Peter Obi expressed concerns about skewed party structures affecting primary elections. “If the party structure is skewed in favour of an aspirant, obviously that aspirant will win,” they stated.

Aishatu Binani cited her belief in the NDC’s commitment to structured governance as a reason for her defection. She stated, “The answer is quite simple. After carefully studying the party’s constitution, I saw a strong commitment to structured, policy-driven governance.” The NDC is preparing for the upcoming 2027 general elections with new members.
