Ijabiyi brings over 25 years of experience in marketing and corporate communications to his new role. He joined FirstBank in 2011 and has held several senior positions within the company. Since December 2024, he has served in an acting capacity as Group Head.

Before joining FirstBank, Ijabiyi worked with notable organizations including British Council, MTN, MultiChoice, and Etisalat Nigeria. He holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti.

Ijabiyi is also a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). In his new role, he will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing and corporate communications strategies.

Observers expect Ijabiyi to enhance stakeholder engagement and brand management at FirstBank. His extensive background positions him well to drive innovative marketing strategies within the financial services sector.
