The mock UTME, conducted on March 28, 2026, was designed to assess the operational and technical readiness of accredited centres. Results from the mock examination were released on March 31, 2026, revealing that several centres experienced prolonged delays and network failures.

A total of 2,243,816 candidates registered for the 2026 UTME nationwide, with the main examination scheduled to take place from April 16 to April 25, 2026. JAMB has increased the number of examination centres to 1,000 nationwide, up from fewer than 800 in 2025, in an effort to accommodate the growing number of candidates.

The affected centres are spread across states including Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, FCT, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, and Plateau. In addition to the delisted centres, JAMB issued warnings to 88 centres that faced minor technical issues during the mock examination.

The decision to delist the centres was signed by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin. This measure reflects JAMB’s commitment to ensuring that all examination centres meet the required operational and technical standards.
