Rangers’ title hopes are fading in the Scottish Premiership, but they still have a chance to impact the title race between Hearts and Celtic. Currently, Rangers sit third, trailing Hearts by seven points and Celtic by four with three games left to play.

Danny Röhl has taken over as manager and has a points per league game average of 2.22 since his arrival. However, Rangers lost 2-1 to Hearts recently, which significantly impacted their title chances.

James Tavernier, the team’s captain, has made 564 appearances for Rangers, moving him to fifth on the list of all-time appearance makers. He will leave this summer along with six other players whose loan spells are ending.

In December, Rangers secured a 3-1 victory at Celtic Park, marking their last win against Celtic. This season has been challenging for them; they have not finished third in the Scottish Premiership since 2018.

Meanwhile, Rangers lead the Nigeria Premier Football League with 62 points from 36 matches. They boast the best defensive record in that league, conceding only 25 goals. They are also among the joint highest-scoring teams with 43 goals.

Rangers will host Bendel Insurance in their next match in the NPFL. Fidelis Ilechukwu aims for a second league title in three seasons under his management.

Despite their struggles, Röhl remains optimistic: “It’s over when it’s over and it means it’s not over because we have still three games to go.” However, analysts note that consistency is critical as they strive to regain form before the season concludes.
