The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released results for candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on April 16, 2026. The examination is ongoing nationwide with over two million candidates participating.
Candidates can check their results via SMS by sending UTMERESULT to either 55019 or 66019. Fabian Benjamin, a JAMB spokesperson, advised that candidates should use the same phone number (SIM) they registered with.
However, printing of results is not yet available. JAMB will continue to release results as the examination progresses. The first batch of results included 632,788 candidates.
Yet, JAMB issued a strong warning against manipulation or falsification of results. This act constitutes a criminal offense. Recently, two candidates and one parent were arrested for alleged result falsification.
The results for candidates who sat the UTME on April 17, 2026, will be released before midnight on April 18, 2026. Observers anticipate that more updates will follow as the examination continues.
