Google has launched 100,000 Career Certificate scholarships in Ghana to boost digital skills development. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the local digital economy. The scholarships aim to prepare participants for high-demand jobs in various fields.
The announcement came during the opening of an AI Community Center in Accra. Google representatives emphasized the importance of equipping Ghanaian youth with essential skills for global opportunities. They stated, “We want to ensure that Ghanaian youth are equipped with the hands-on skills required to take full advantage of global opportunities and build successful, long-term careers in the tech industry.”
These scholarships provide access to flexible online training programs designed by Google experts. Participants can complete the programs online in under six months with no prior experience required. The available tracks include:

- Data Analytics
- Cybersecurity
- Digital Marketing & E-commerce
- IT Support
- Project Management
- UX Design
The initiative is part of the One Million Coders Program, which aims to train one million Ghanaians in digital skills by 2030. This program addresses the growing demand for digital skills across Africa.
In addition, MTN Ghana Foundation has opened applications for its Bright Scholarship for the 2026/27 academic year. This scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and essential learning resources for students. In 2026, MTN will award 500 scholarships, including 300 for STEM courses and 200 for teachers furthering their education.
