The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced significant security measures for the upcoming Easter celebrations, deploying over 57,000 officers across the nation. This operation aims to ensure a safe environment during the festivities, which will take place on April 2, 2026.
The deployment covers all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with a focus on high-traffic areas such as churches and shopping complexes. The NSCDC’s proactive approach is designed to preempt potential security threats during this period.
Commandant General Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi emphasized the importance of collaboration with other security agencies, stating, “We are working hand-in-hand with sister agencies to maintain order.” Specialized tactical units, including the Special Intelligence Squad and Crack Squad, are on maximum alert to respond swiftly to any incidents.
Zonal Commanders and State Commandants have been tasked with coordinating security efforts, ensuring that all areas are adequately monitored. The NSCDC is also urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their local posts.
