Al Nassr rallied from a goal behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Al Fayha in their Saudi Pro League match for the 2025-26 season at the Majmaah Sports City Stadium on Saturday.
Sadio Mane and Abdullah Al-Hamdan scored for the visitors, while an own goal by Al Fayha’s goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera allowed Al Nassr to secure all three points, following another own goal by defender Abdulelah Al-Amri during first-half stoppage time.
In contrast, Cristiano Ronaldo experienced a disappointing evening as he failed to convert a penalty early in the match and later left the field due to injury in the closing moments.
Al Nassr entered the match riding an impressive eight-game winning streak in the league and took control of the game from the outset. Their early intensity bore fruit when Mohamed Simakan was fouled in the opponent’s penalty area by Mikel Villanueva in the eighth minute.

Ronaldo approached the penalty spot aiming for his 22nd league goal of the season, but he misfired, sending his attempt wide of the left post.
It was Al Fayha that ultimately took the advantage in the second minute of stoppage time when Rakan Kaabi’s delivery from the right side of the area was accidentally put into his own goal by Al Amri while trying to clear the ball.
Mane equalized in the 72nd minute by connecting with a cross from Kingsley Coman, and just eight minutes later, Joao Felix’s attempt from outside the area hit the left post, ricocheted off Al Fayha’s goalkeeper Mosquera, and found its way into the net.
In the 85th minute, substitute Al Hamdan sealed the victory with a simple finish right in front of the net.
Although they secured the victory, Al Nassr will be cautious about Ronaldo’s condition after the 41-year-old was substituted for Al Hamdan in the 81st minute, during which he was observed receiving treatment for his hamstring.
The outcome lifted Al Nassr to the pinnacle of the league table, accumulating 61 points from 24 matches, placing them two points ahead of Al Ahli in second place.
