The 7th edition of the PwC-sponsored Nigeria Cricket Federation National Under-17 Cricket Championship for boys and girls is set to commence on March 11, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Oval in Abuja.
This championship follows the successful completion of zonal qualifiers held across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, highlighting the growing interest and talent in youth cricket.
Alhaji Sani Mohammed, a representative from the Nigeria Cricket Federation, stated, “The PwC Under-17 Championship will start tomorrow [today].” He emphasized the importance of grassroots development, noting, “Our development officers work closely with schools in their various zones.” This partnership has been a key driver of cricket development in the country.

In the Championship, Coventry City leads the league with just one loss in their 17 home matches this season, indicating their formidable presence in the competition.
As the championship approaches, observers are predicting strong performances from teams, with some suggesting Middlesbrough could secure a 3-0 victory against Charlton Athletic, while Coventry City might defeat Preston North End 2-0.
